The Immigrant Visa Unit uses a guaranteed courier service to deliver issued visas.

Applicants also have the option to pick up the visas at the nearest 2GO branch.

Proper Procedures for getting out you’re passport:

For some reason, the US Embassy is not consistent with everyone’s visa packet and sometimes this can be a problem for people making videos or using pictured illustrations as not all of the visa packets are the same.

It is your responsibility to make sure that you do not sign the release receipt from 2GO until you are very satisfied that your visa is 100% in good shape at the time of delivery?

A damaged packet could cost you entry into the United States if the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol officers find any damage on you’re visa packet, they are inclined to believe you or someone was tampering with it?

Examples of Damage:

» Plastic torn excessively then repaired with tape.
» The plastic having holes in it could result in a denied entry.
» Even worse is the yellow envelope that contains US Documents torn, cut, sliced or water damage.

Below are some examples of how to take your passport out?

On one side you have a warning page.

Do not destroy open the heavy clear plastic!
.
Neatly slice the plastic at the bottom or bottom side.
.
Best to cut a nice straight line on the seems of the plastic.
.
Making a slice just enough to fit your passport through. Next, you will use clear transparent tape to again neatly seal it shut.

Some Visa packets have a clear transparent flap located at the top or in the middle that you can carefully peel open then reseal it shut as seen in the example below:
